… is the Associate Director of Community Engagement at San Diego Zoo Global. As a social scientist, she establishes and oversees the social aspects of community-based conservation programs focused on human-wildlife interaction and conservation education in Mexico, Peru, Kenya and Southeast Asia. Her interests center around understanding the attitudes/beliefs and values of local people towards wildlife, and integrating outcomes to help build local and sustainable conservation programs. Jenny serves as the AIP facilitator for a Human Dimensions of Conservation course. She earned her Ph.D. in Human Dimensions of Wildlife from Memorial University (NL, Canada). She also holds a M.S. in Applied Animal Behaviour and Animal Welfare from Edinburgh University (UK), and a M.S. in Conservation of Biodiversity and Management of Protected Areas from La Sapienza University of Rome (Italy). She is a world traveler and spends her free time at the beach and camping with her husband, Philippe, and two boys, Nicolas and Vincent.
