Dragonfly Students Win Global Initiatives Award for 2021 International Education Week Contest

On November 18, 2021, Miami University’s Global Initiatives announced the winners of the 2021 International Education Week (IEW) Contest, and four Global Field Program (GFP) students were recognized. Click here for a complete list of 2021 winners.

Kevin Browning won third place in the photo contest for his “All Things Cassava” photo taken during his 2021 Earth Expeditions: Guyana course. In the photo, Kevin (right) is learning how to make cassava bread with a woman of the Surama tribe.

Ginger Levinson won second place in the photo contest for her “More Than a Way of Life” photo taken during her 2021 Earth Expeditions: Belize course. In the photo, Conway from the Community Baboon Sanctuary demonstrate how local residents process cashew nuts.

Levinson drove up with her mother from Nashville, Tenn., to receive the award in person and visited Dragonfly.
